Jaipur, 15 May 2020. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot under the Right to Free Education and Compulsory Child Education Act-2009 (RTE Act), the annual income limit of parents for free admission of weaker and disadvantaged group in 25 percent seats in non-government schools of the state is one lakh rupees. Has been approved to replace two and a half lakh rupees.

With the approval of Shri Gehlot, the spirit of Right to Education Act will be strengthened in the state. By increasing the income limit, more children from weaker and disadvantaged groups will get free admission in non-government schools. Due to this decision of the Chief Minister, a large number of children of this class will also be able to get free education in big and well-known private schools, which were deprived of the previous government reducing the income limit of parents from Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 1 lakh.

It is noteworthy that in the video conference of the Education Department in the past, the Chief Minister had emphasized that according to the spirit of the Right to Free Education and Compulsory Child Education Act, the children of needy families need to be given benefits. He had expressed concern that due to the decision to reduce the income limit of parents, children of needy families are not getting the opportunity to get free education in non-government schools, which is contrary to the spirit of the Act.
