Through MNREGA, 15.67 lakh laborers got work in Jashpur district: payment of Rs 44.22 crore to laborers
Raipur, 04 June 2020 In Chhattisgarh, extensive work has been started under Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme. As many as 15 lakh 67 thousand 45 rural laborers have been provided employment in 3133 sanctioned works in 444 gram panchayats of Jashpur district in the financial year 2020-21. 44 crore 22 lakh 10 thousand wages have been paid to the laborers. In some development blocks of the district, wages are being paid by self help groups' BC associates at work place and in BC centers. Due to which the people are getting relief and convenience. He is relieved of frequent rounds of banks for wage payments.
Water conservation works have been taken up by MNREGA on priority. In which Dubri construction, new pond construction, pond deepening, well construction, drain cleaning, land reforms in addition to drainage work, land leveling, sed construction, CPT construction, Prime Minister Housing etc. are being done on public and private lands. . Under the MGNREGA, employment has been created for rural laborers and migrant workers through livelihood promotion and beneficial oriented construction work near their place of residence. In the event of a lock-down due to the Corona epidemic, providing employment to rural working families was a big choice. Through the MGNREGA, rural laborers are being provided employment close to their place of residence. In order to prevent corona virus infection, workers have been instructed to use the sanitizer and face masks along with following the public distance at the MNREGA work site. Where MGNREGA work is going on, soap and water have been provided for washing hands of laborers. Work is being done by all laborers using masks and creating a distance of more than one meter from each other.
