Public employees will receive Christmas bonus on December 3
On December 24, Christmas Eve is celebrated. December 31 is New Year's Eve and January 7 is the day after Three Kings Day.
The governor also announced the next holidays that will be with and without a vacation charge

 

Sat, Nov 27, 2021 San Juan, Puerto Rico: Governor Pedro R. Pierluisi announced the disbursement of $ 70.9 million for the payment of the Christmas bonus for public employees on Friday, December 3 as per November 23, 2021 announcement. Likewise, he informed that on Friday, November 26, following Thanksgiving, it will be granted with a charge to vacations for the employees of the Government of Puerto Rico.

On the other hand, Fridays, December 24 and 31, will be granted free of charge to vacations; Meanwhile, on Friday, January 7, it will be granted against said license.

The chief executive stressed that the following days will not apply to agencies that provide essential services. Each agency must determine which departments will continue to work to guarantee access to its services to citizens.

“That time of year has come when we organize ourselves economically to fulfill our responsibilities and also celebrate the holidays that are already so close. For this reason, and in anticipation of many, we announce to government employees that the Christmas voucher will be delivered on December 3, ”said Pierluisi.

 
 

The governor added that "during Christmas, we all stop or pause to take advantage of quality time with our people and this year is no exception, even more so when we maintain a low COVID-19 infection statistic, which allows us a little more flexibility to share memorable moments with our people. We urge our employees to take advantage of these days to recharge their batteries and enjoy this long-awaited holiday season, always remembering the preventive measures necessary to avoid contagion ”.
