Janjgir Champa, June 15, 2021 Collector Jitendra Kumar Shukla said that continuous efforts are being made by the state government to provide quality education to the students. Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools are being established for the poorest of the poor children to get facilities like private schools, so that they can prepare themselves for future competitive examinations by studying in English medium.
For this purpose, two district level and eight block level Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools have been approved in the district. Two district level English medium schools of Janjgir and Sakti have been started. The admission process is being started for this year in the remaining 8 block level schools.
The Collector told the District Education Officers that applications have been received from the students for admission. In such a class where more applications have been received than the available seats, following the prescribed procedure, the students should be selected through the lottery system. In such classes where applications are received less than the available seats, the admission process will continue.
The Collector said that the process of deputation of departmental teachers to English medium schools should also be completed soon so that teaching work can be started on time. He asked the officials of the construction department to get the repair and incomplete construction works completed soon and also start the tender process for the approved works.
The Collector said that free text books are distributed to the students every year by the State Government. According to the instructions of the government, free text books will be given to all the eligible students at their homes so that they do not face any difficulty in continuing their studies.
The Collector directed the District Education Officers to prepare an action plan for the distribution of text books. The meeting was attended by Mrs. Leena Kosam, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Gajendra Singh Thakur, District Education Officer of Sakti and Janjgir along with officials of the construction department.
