Check Official Bio of Isabel Ticlo Miss Arizona 2018

State: Arizona

School: Arizona State University

College Major: Marketing, minors in Communications and Dance

Scholarship Winnings: $9,450

Social Impact Initiative: An initiative I’m promoting through my year of service is the “Be My Eyes” application, which is free international tool that connects sighted volunteers to visually impaired members of the community. As Miss America I would have the reach to recruit more nationwide volunteers to register and impact the lives of the 285 million visually impaired people in the world.

Miss America empowers me to: Miss America empowered me to follow my parents’ footsteps and live the American dream they worked so hard for me to have. My Mom grew up in Thailand my Dad lived in India where he didn’t have the opportunity to obtain his college degree. Both of my parents came to America to pursue higher education. Their desire to achieve an education motivated me to earn high honors upon graduation and graduate debt free from Arizona State University having received free tuition through the Regency AIMS Scholarship. Today it still continues to drive my passion for learning. I aspire to obtain my Masters as well and eventually a Ph.D. in Marketing Research — leveraging the Miss America scholarships.

Bio: A Summa Cum Laude graduate of ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business with a B.S. in Marketing and minors in Communications and Dance, 24-year-old Isabel Ticlo is a passionate advocate for her platform, Supporting Those With Vision Impairment. She volunteers with the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and is the youngest member of Chandler Lions Club to receive the Melvin Jones Award for outstanding community efforts, collecting 3,000+ eyeglasses for low income families. Isabel works in Marketing and, inspired by her half-Thai, half-Indian heritage and extensive dance training, she performs a Bollywood Dance for the talent competition.
