Forest people continue to collect forest produce following the guidelines of the government - Forest Minister Akbar
So far, more than 14 thousand quintals of forest produce have been collected in the state

Raipur, 06 April 2020 Under the guidance of Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, the work of collection of minor forest produce is being carried out following the guidelines of the government in the state. Under this, 14 thousand 96 quintals of minor forest produce have been collected by the forest dwellers and villagers in the state during the current season so far.
Forest Minister Md. Akbar informed that during the current season, there is a target to collect 8,46, 920 quintals of minor forest produce with an amount of Rs. 253 crore.
Principal Secretary Forest Manoj Kumar Pingua informed that as per the target set under them, 839 quintals have been collected by forest division-wise, Khairagarh forest division and 545 quintals of minor forest produce in district Kabirdham, district-wise.
In the collection of minor forest produce by the villagers and forest dwellers, the guidelines of the government and the rules are being followed 100 percent during the lockdown.
Among the forest produce collected so far in the state are forest divisionswise, 839 quintals in Khairagarh amounting to Rs 27 lakhs, 545 quintals of Rs 13 lakhs in Kawardha and 3 thousand 37 quintals of Rs 80 lakhs in Jagdalpur. Similarly, one thousand 573 quintals of Rs 46 lakhs in forest division wise Dantewada, 762 quintals of Rs 12 lakhs in Kanker, 332 quintals of Rs 6 lakhs in Bilaspur, 146 quintals of Rs 2.5 lakhs in Balod and Rs 15 lakhs in Bijapur. 965 quintal forest produce has been collected.
