Raipur: Chhattisgarh government's Major Decision To speed up development works in municipal areas: The Mayor Council of Municipal Corporations got the right to change the site and spend the savings in construction works

The State Government has taken a major decision with a view to giving impetus to development works in the municipal areas. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria today in the meeting of the Mayor and Commissioners of Municipal Corporations at Mahanadi Bhawan, to give the right to change the place of construction works and the right to spend the savings amount on receipt of low tender rate in the tender declare. During the review of various construction works, the mayors had demanded these rights while mentioning practical problems.
Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Dahria said in the meeting that the corporation should work fast in the interest of the public by establishing coordination with all the commissioners, mayors and public representatives. He made a corporation-wide detailed review of the flagship schemes of the government, Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme, Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Chief Minister's Ward Office, Pauni Pasari as well as Peacock Land More House, More House More Signature, Amrit Mission, Infrastructure and State-promoted schemes. At the review meeting, Dr. Dahria instructed to bring more progress in the Pauni Pasari scheme and complete all the construction works in time-limit with full quality. A detailed review of the construction works was done one by one in the meeting. Dr. Dahria, while collecting corporation taxes and user charge, directed the corporations to make serious efforts towards making themselves self-sustainable.
In the meeting, the departmental secretary, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D., Additional CEO of Suda. Shri Saumil Ranjan Choubey and other departmental officers were present. The mayors of Korba, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur joined online and the mayors of other municipal corporations were present in the meeting held at Mahanadi Bhavan.
