Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today interacted with 17 successful students in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains under the 'Choo Lo Akash' program of Dantewada district and congratulated them for their success. These students have got merit list for admission to NIT. With the help of this program started in the year 2011 in collaboration with District Administration Dantewada and NMDC, 845 students have been selected for various higher education institutions.

Addressing the students through video conferencing from his residence office, the Chief Minister said that education is the medium through which new heights are being achieved in every sphere of life. You are from remote areas and have achieved this success through Choo Lo Aasmaan Touch the sky' program with your determination in the opposite circumstances. The Chief Minister took the occasion to increase the 40 seats for the tribal children of Bijapur and Sukma from next session in the 'Choo Lo Akash' program, provide financial assistance to the selected students according to their need and provide full treatment to the eyes of one student Hemant Kumar Arya Announced. Mr. Baghel said that 53 schools have been started in districts under Swami Atmanand English Medium School Scheme in the state. In the coming years, English Medium School will be started at the block level.

Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Industry Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Shishupal Sori, MLA Mr. Anup Nag, President of Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan, Advisor to NMDC Mr. Dinesh Srivastava were present on the occasion. . Collector Dantewada Mr. Deepak Soni and Mr. Sumit Dev, Chairman cum Managing Director of NMDC were involved through video conferencing.

The Chief Minister said that the success of children involved in the 'Choo Lo Akash' program has proved that there is no dearth of talent in our Bastar region. If given the opportunity, our children can also beat the children of metros. Till now Bastar was identified with its natural shade, its unique lifestyle and minerals-rich mines. Now Bastar will also be known as education. On this occasion, Mr. Baghel spoke to Santkumar Kanujam of successful students Dantewada Cherpal, Negi and Kalyani Netam of Sukma and Manoj Kumar of Dantewada Teknar and Sukriti Sharma, teacher of Chuchho Akash, to know about their experiences. The children credited their success to the gurus, the Chief Minister, the district administration, Dantewada and their parents.

A total of 17 students (15 students, 2 students) have got a place in the merit list in the JEE Mains Entrance Examination (for NIT) this year in the 'Choo Lo Akash' program, in which 11 of Dantewada, Bijapur K2, 3 of Sukma and 1 student from Bastar district, including 16 students are from tribal and 1 other backward class. Last year also 21 students got admission in IIT, NIT.

'Choo Lo Akash' was established in the year 2011 with the objective of preparing tribal children of Dantewada region in competitive examinations. This institution basically prepares PET and PMT by keeping students in Dantewada and adjoining hostels from class 9th, as well as admission to various schools of Dantewada to continue their studies. Every year 80 students and students are given admission in the institution on the basis of entrance test. Of the total seats, 76 percent are reserved for tribal, 4 percent for scheduled castes, 14 percent for other backward classes and 6 percent for general class students. A total of 600 students are studying in the class at one time.

Right from the establishment of "Choo Lo Akash", NMDC has spent all the students studying in this institution, such as teachers' pay scale, student copy, book, teaching material, uniform, food, all items of daily use. And the expenditure of competitive examinations is incurred under NMDC CSR. Three crore rupees is spent annually by NMDC to cater to these needs of Choo Lo Aasmaan Touch The Sky students. The institution is monitored by the District Administration and NMDC.
