On the request of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Chief Minister demanded from the Central Government

The dates of April and May for the submission of different types of returns by businessmen should be extended for two months.

It may be considered to grant a moratorium period of at least 3 months for payment of principal and interest installments of the loan taken for business operation.

Raipur, 03 May 2021  Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to the Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman requesting to provide the desired relief to the small and medium businessmen of the state in view of the difficulties of the small and medium businesses in the state, currently being declared as a zone of employment from the morning of April 9 to May 6. Have done Mr. Baghel has demanded from the Central Government at the request of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries that the dates of April and May for submission of different types of returns by businessmen be extended for two months, as well as loans taken for conducting business. In a letter to the Union Finance Minister, the Chief Minister has written that as a final effective step to stop the second and more deadly wave of Kovid-19 epidemic, in almost all the districts including Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, starting from April 9 on the morning of May 6 Till the declaration of a full cantonment zone, the economic activities and trade-off in the state is almost closed. Due to this, economic crisis has arisen in front of small and medium class businessmen in the state. The Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries has demanded some immediate reliefs to help them in this economic problem, on which I would like to draw your attention.

  Mr. Baghel has written that due to April month being the first month of the financial year 2021-22, the dates of many compliance are fixed in TDS and TCS Act. At such a time, it is not possible for businessmen to reconcile their accounts and submit different types of returns within the stipulated time frame. Various employees working in their offices, establishments such as accountants, data entry operators, management staff etc. are either in home isolation or in hospital due to being infected with Kovid. Similarly, various tax advisors of businessmen like- Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Tax Adviser etc. are also unable to provide their services due to being infected by this epidemic. Keeping in view the above circumstances, the Chamber has requested that the various dates of April and May be extended for the next 2 months.

The Chief Minister has written that the cash flow of business and industries has been severely affected due to the situation of near-closure of trade-businesses in the state at present, and keeping in mind the possible time taken to improve the present situation, various businessmen There is a lot of difficulty in repaying the principal and interest in loans taken from banks and financial institutions. Therefore, it has been requested by the Chamber that a moratorium of at least 3 months should be considered in the deadline for payment of installments of principal and interest of the loan taken for carrying on their business.

Mr. Baghel has said that the state government fully agrees to both the above demands made by the state chamber of commerce. Both these subjects are related to the jurisdiction of your ministry. Considering the problems of small and medium businessmen of the state in this critical time of disaster, considering them seriously and sympathetically, there is an urge to take positive steps on these justified demands. This measure is quite helpful in providing the desired relief to the businessmen of the state in the current financial year. The state government fully agrees to both the above demands made by the Chamber of Commerce of the state. Both these subjects are related to the jurisdiction of your ministry. Considering the problems of small and medium businessmen of the state in this critical time of disaster, considering them seriously and sympathetically, there is an urge to take positive steps on these justified demands.
