Village Industries Minister launches ten day craft market

Raipur, 12 February 2020 Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar today launched the ten-day Craft Bazaar Bhilai 2020 at Civic Center Bhilai. Minister Guru Rudrakumar inspected the stall and appreciated the products of the handicrafts, saying that the handicrafts have preserved the skills learned from their forefathers as heritage and are carrying them forward. On this occasion, he said that the people coming to the craft market organized will be familiar with the richness of handicraft and the same variations. In this craft market, people will get an opportunity to buy many handmade handloom items according to their interest. He said that many people will enjoy this craft market in the coming days.

It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh Handicraft Development Board organizes such events from time to time to promote hand made products and art and make markets available. Along with this, promotion of hand art also ensures employment of hand craftsmen. In this ten day event, handicraft products of artisans from different provinces and different regions of Chhattisgarh state are being exhibited and sold.

On this occasion, the program was chaired by Durg city MLA Arun Vora. The fair, which runs from 12 to 21 February, will be open to the general public from 11 am to 9 pm. The fair has been organized by the Chhattisgarh Handicraft Board in collaboration with the Development Commissioner (Hand Craft) Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. A large number of people including the officials of the Handicrafts Board were present on the occasion.
