Development of New Eco-friendly Industries Discussion with Overseas Indian Experts from America

Overseas Indian experts from the Netherlands and America met Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and State Green Council President Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here today. Adviser to the Chief Minister and Vice-Chairman of Chhattisgarh Green Council, Mr. Pradeep Sharma was also present on the occasion. In the meeting, discussions were held on the prospects of new industries in this context to continue sustainable development while avoiding the ill effects of climate change. During this, Chief Minister Shri Baghel presented Gulal made from cow dung by rural women of Chhattisgarh to the experts. In the meeting, Mr. Vikas Mehta (USA), CEO SED Fund, Dr. Kartikeya Singh (Netherlands) Deputy Director, SED Fund and Ms. Ritvika Bhattacharya, CEO, Swaniti Initiative were present.

In order to strengthen the rural economy in Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister gave them Narva, Garwa, Ghurva, Bari Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, production of vermi compost from cow dung, Gauthan as Rural Industrial Park under Suraji Gaon Yojana implemented in the state. He gave detailed information about the initiatives to be developed and the benefits that people will get from these schemes along with environmental protection in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister told them that Chhattisgarh is moving fast in the direction of organic farming due to its spontaneous increasing use by the farmers along with the production of vermicompost. Electricity generation and paint making is also being started from cow dung. The economic activities conducted in the Gothans have provided new opportunities of employment and income to the villagers and women.
