Forest, Housing, Environment, Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Mohammad Akbar, who reached the forest conference program organized on the occasion of Rajim Maghi Punni Mela, prayed at the Shri Rajiv Lochan Temple and prayed for the prosperity of the state. Gariaband 12 February 2020 In order of the conferences to be held at Rajim Maghi Punni Mela, a special conference of members of forest committees was organized today. Forest, Housing, Environment and Law Legislative Minister Mo. Akbar joined as the chief guest. Forest Minister Shri Akbar assured the members of all the forest committees that the forest beneficiaries will be given to the eligible beneficiaries.
Minister Mo. Akbar said that there is 50 percent forest area in Gariaband. This state is higher than the average forest area. The Forest Minister said that the Lameru Elephant Project will come into existence soon at the state level to prevent loss of livestock from elephants. He said that approval has been received from the board of ministers for this. Shri Akbar said that the priority of the state is to protect human and wild animals, so this project will be developed in 1955 sq km area 4 times more than 452 sq km area recommended by the Central Government. Mr. Akbar said in the conference that earlier only 8 minor forest produce were purchased at the support price, but after the formation of the new government, now 22 minor forest produce will be purchased at the support price. He expressed confidence that these minor forest produce will become the means of livelihood of the forest dwellers. Besides, Minister Akbar also informed that preparations are being made to set up a technical medical board for the sale of forest medicines.
Earlier, Chairman of District Small Forest Produce Shri Bhagirathi Manjhi said that there are 70 Primary Small Forest Produce Committees in the district. There are 66 thousand tendu leaf collectors. He urged for collective insurance for collectors. The conference was also addressed by Commissioner Mr. GR Churendra, Chief Conservator of Forests SS D Badagaiya, and Forest Officer, Mayank Agarwal. Collector Shyam Dhawade, Superintendent of Police MR Ahire, District Panchayat CEO Vinay Langeh, Dhamtari DFO Amitabh Vajpayee, Baishakhu Ram Sahu, Vikas Tiwari, Manish Dubey, Thakur Ram Sahu and members of forest committees from across the district were present at the conference. On this occasion, new packaging of Van Aushadhi was launched by Vandhan Samiti Keshodar. In addition, scholarships were awarded to the branch workers' remuneration and excellence committees and forest management committees. On this occasion, the Forest Minister visited Lord Rajiv Lochan. He wished for the prosperity and prosperity of the state.
