Right to Information Act-2005 Work in progress for web portal for online application
Raipur, 22 July 2021: As per the instructions of the Chief State Information Commissioner, an online web portal is being created by the General Administration Department for receiving applications under the Right to Information Act 2005. With the preparation of online web portal software for receiving applications under Right to Information Act 2005, the applicant will be able to deposit the required fee under the Act with the application of Public Information Officer, First Appellate Officer and Second Appeal.

Chief State Information Commissioner M.K. Raut said that a web portal has been created by all the departments of the Government of India, including some states, to receive online applications under the Right to Information Act 2005. He said that with the preparation of the software of the online web portal, the applicants would be able to deposit the required fee under the Act online with the application of Public Information Officer/First Appellate Officer and Second Appeal, thereby saving time and unnecessary expenditure.

The petition number 360-2021 presented in the Hon'ble Supreme Court, New Delhi, Kishan Chand vs Union of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh, along with the State Information Commission has also been made a party. In this petition, a demand has been made for the creation of a web portal for sending online applications under the Right to Information Act 2005.

Similarly, in the petition number 1040-2019 presented in the Hon'ble Supreme Court, New Delhi, Pravasi Legal Cell vs Union of India and others, a notice has been issued to the Government of Chhattisgarh and a demand has been made to create a web portal for receiving online applications under the Right to Information Act 2005.

Keeping in view the guide line of Covid-19, the National Informatics Center (NIC) has been asked by the Government of Chhattisgarh to make the mentioned portal regarding the receipt of applications through the online portal under the Right to Information Act 2005 in the state. Instructions in this regard have been given to the Chhattisgarh Government General Administration Department. National Informatics Center (NIC) is creating an online web portal for receiving applications under Right to Information Act 2005.
