For the first time after the formation of the state, Power Company is recruiting on so many posts
Raipur, July 15, 2021 Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to recruit on more than two and a half thousand posts in the power company, ranging from line attendant working from junior engineer to field level. Domiciles of of Chhattisgarh will be given preference in this recruitment process. It is the first time after the formation of the state, when power company has been directed to do one-time recruitment on such a large number of posts.
Special Secretary, Energy Department and Chairman, Power Company, Mr. Ankit Anand informed that after the formation of the state, there has been a significant increase in the number of electricity consumers. The power generation capacity has increased from 1360 MW to 3224 MW. At the time of formation of the state, there were 18.91 lakh consumers, which has now increased to 56 lakh. Hence, the recruitment on vacant posts of the field staff is necessary for quality power supply and quick redressal of consumers' problems.
Instructions have been given to recruit on about 2583 posts of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution, Transmission and Generation Company. These posts are extremely important from the point of view of providing electricity supply related services to the consumers. Recruitment on these posts will be done for the field offices. This includes 340 posts of Junior Engineer, 610 of Data Entry Operator and 1500 of Attendant Line (Trainee). Besides, vacant posts in the dispensary of Power Company will also be filled. Chief Minister has given instructions for recruitment to these posts, and as per the instructions, advertisements will be issued for recruitment on these posts soon.
It is worth mentioning that a large number of Junior Engineers have been promoted and made Assistant Engineers in Power Company, as a result the posts of Junior Engineer are vacant. Soon new candidates will be appointed on these posts. In addition, regular recruitment of line staff will be done on a large scale at the field level. Of these, 950 posts are of Grade-III and 1549 posts are of Grade-IV. In this way, instructions have been given for recruitment on a total of 2583 posts.
