He has urged the people of the state to take immediate notice of criminal incidents to the police and fulfill their social concerns.

DGP Lather was interacting with citizens from different parts of the state on Friday in the afternoon virtual mass media program. He thanked the Patrika Group for organizing the virtual Jan Swand program. He said that with the help of the public, the police can effectively do the work of prevention of criminal activities and arrest of criminals.

The Director General said that the police is working for the cooperation and protection of the common people with promptness. The public can get help by giving instant information regarding criminal activities through Rajasthan Police's toll free number 100, 112, 1090 or Twitter Handle or WhatsApp. The police start their work as soon as they get the information.

Regarding the incidents related to women's atrocities, Mr. Lather said that more than 90 percent of the incidents are due to breach of trust. Disgraceful trust of relatives, planners, neighbors or friendly relations leads to such embarrassing incidents. Instead of banning the girl child, he also prohibited the need to make boys sanskarvans and watch their activities carefully.

He urged the general public to state the factual facts while registering FIRs in various criminal cases, saying that false cases are ruined in courts during cross-examination. He informed about the safety plan being started on the lines of CLG. He informed that Mahila Shakti self-defense centers are being operated from January 1, 2020. Self-defense training can be obtained from these centers by registering on the website.

Mr. Lather informed that as per the order of the Supreme Court, arrangements are being made to install a minimum of 06-06 CCTV cameras in each police station. At present about 10 percent women are employed in the total police force in the state. Cases related to atrocities on women are questioned by women personnel on priority basis. Women, children and elderly people can be questioned for testimony at the time and place they have mentioned.

The Director General said that there is a provision to complete the investigation of any case by law within 60 days, but it is our endeavor to complete the investigation of each case as soon as possible. In the absence of an FIR at the police station, the system of filing an FIR in the Superintendent of Police Office was started from June 01, 2019. Till now 202 FIRs have been lodged in the Superintendent of Police Office, out of which 18 FIRs did not register FIRs in the police station. Action has been taken as per rules related to personnel who have not filed police station FIRs.

Urging to take full advantage of the services of Rajasthan Police Citizen App, he said that by downloading this app, his security can be further strengthened. He told that the evils like child marriage, marriage practice, witch system etc. give rise to criminal incidents. These evils can be avoided with the help of common people.

Shri Lather informed that along with the vigilance branch at the headquarters level, other actions are also taken regularly to keep an eye on the police personnel. He said that policemen are generally discharging their duties in a disciplined manner, though the organization is infamous due to some dirty fishes. Taking strict action against the police personnel involved in unwanted activities, they have been dismissed. He assured the people that the police would not allow any reduction in their security.
