Janjgir-Champa: Restriction on conveyor belt operation of dust section after investigation of Amjhar power plant accident: instructions to adopt safe working method
 Janjgir-Champa,  Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, Tuesday, 27 October 2020:

The death of the laborer due to accident in Chhattisgarh Steel and Power Limited Amjhar was investigated by factory inspector and assistant director of industrial health and safety, Mr. Manish Kunjam. After investigation, Mr. Kunjam issued a restrictive order banning the operation of conveyor belt of dust section of Amjhar Power Plant under Chhattisgarh Factories Act 1948 with immediate effect. Factory management has been instructed to adopt safe working practices. The factory management has been instructed to submit the detailed report report in the restrictive order.

     In connection with the investigation, the assistant operator said that the walkway has been built to walk the workers near the conveyor belt operated in the dust action of the plant. Despite the slope and slippage in the walkway, the railings were not provided. Which caused the accident. Accident worker Mr. Vinod Singh was rushed to Champa NKH Hospital immediately after injury. Where he was pronounced dead.
