Check: Hey everyone, my name is Ona Moody and I'm your Miss Universe Netherlands 2022.

I work as a maternity nurse and I can tell you it's a pretty special job. You only have maternity nurses in the Netherlands. People are often surprised that this is my job because they wouldn’t expect that from me, because before this I was a dance student.

- I had a depression a few years ago, because I always thought I wasn’t good in anything. Now that I experienced first hand how important mental health is, I want to show people that it’s ok to talk about not feeling ok and that you’re not alone. This is something I feel very strongly about.

- I have PCOS, Polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is actually a very common condition and a lot of women have it. But a lot of women don’t know that they have it, I would love to create more awareness about this during my reign.

Ona Moody's Personality interviews LOOK

Definitely felt the nerves, but I think that’s only natural. It was important for me to go in to the interview staying true to myself and being my authentic self. That’s exactly what I did and I’m proud of that.

I can be a bit hard on myself sometimes, but I have to remember how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown and that being here is already a HUGE accomplishment. So this is a reminder for myself but also a reminder for you, to give yourself some credit for all the amazing things you’re doing and that you’re doing amazing 🤍

It’s still crazy to think that tomorrow is actually the preliminary!!!! Can’t wait to walk on that stage

Ona Moody Miss Universe Nederland 2022 will represent her nation The Netherlands at the 71ST Miss Universe 2022 Competition where India's Harnaaz Sandhu Miss Universe 2021 will crown her successor at the end of the Grand Finale in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on Sat, Jan 14, 2023.

Ona Moody is passionate about dancing, self-development, and helping others. She holds a degree in Dancing and Dance Teaching from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts as well as a certificate to be a maternity nurse.

She finds mental health extremely important as she herself has struggled with depression. Her father is from Zimbabwe and her mother is Dutch and because she helms from two different cultures she thinks diversity and equal opportunities for everyone are very important. She wants to create more awareness about these two topics.

Ona is advocate for Hulphond Netherlands and the Make-A-Wish organization. She teaches dance to underprivileged kids and wants to continue sharing her very important polycystic ovary syndrome story and help educate and bring together other women.

I am Ona Moody and I was born and raised in Amsterdam. My father is from Zimbabwe and my mother from the Netherlands. After high school I did the dance academy of Lucia Marthas, but two years ago I retrained as a maternity nurse. With my participation in Miss Netherlands I would like to inspire people. Diversity and equal opportunities for everyone are very important to me. When I was younger I didn't realize that certain groups get fewer opportunities than others, but when I got older I found the inequality of opportunity very confronting. Collapse
In our society there is more and more awareness about this, but there is still much room for improvement. I hope to contribute to that awareness and empower young people to follow their dreams. Because everyone is entitled to that!

Dear 2022, thank you for all the beautiful memories. The year that changed my life, the year that I will never forget.
Met a lot of new people, made new friends, fell in love, got amazing opportunities, quit my job, got a new job, learned so much, laughed a lot, cried a lot and grown so much.
