Miss Upstate USA, Newly crowned Kirby Elizabeth Self Miss South Carolina USA 2023, the 72ND Miss USA 2023 Contestant will represent her SC State at the upcoming Miss USA 2023 Pageant where the reigning queen R'Bonney Gabriel Miss Texas USA 2022, Miss USA 2022 & Miss Universe 2022 will crown her successor at the end of Grand Finale in the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Kirby Elizabeth Self is The First Miss South Carolina USA in Dr. Anne Jakrajutatip Miss Universe Ownership.

Kirby Elizabeth is alumni of Clemson University, did schooling in Emerald High School and her home town is Greenwood, South Carolina

Last year, I took a leap of faith and now I’m in my second semester pursuing my Master’s in Sustainability. Throughout my undergraduate at Clemson, I was a part of many sustainable service trips and campus organizations that sparked my interest in this field. Work hard and never stop chasing your dreams! I am ready for this weekend and I cannot wait to chase this dream to become Miss South Carolina USA.

Made over 30 years ago and remade for this very stage, I began the preliminary competition wearing my late Aunt Elizabeth’s dress. A big thank you to Gregory Ellenburg for upcycling this beautiful vintage dress — my Aunt Elizabeth’s dress — just for me.
