MBGN 2022 Task 1: Use
photography to illustrate the struggles of the Nigerian women.
In Nigeria, there has been a rapid increase in cases of domestic violence against women. In 2011, the statistics presented by 'This Day' newspapers are daunting as it shows that about 50% of women have been battered by their husbands. Shockingly, 65% of educated women are in this terrible situation as compared with their low-income counterparts (55%). Most of them endure, believing
they have nowhere to go and in any case, believing that the law will not protect them. Regardless, a staggering 97% of women are not prepared to report to the Nigeria Police.
My picture above aims to paint the image of the abused women, who are made to experience domestic violence in the name of love for the abuser, fear of the abuser, and lack of support from friends,
family, and the public. This is one of the many problems women face in Nigeria; we look forward to the number of women affected reducing annually as more of those abused come out to share their stories and shame the perpetrators of the evil act.

CAMP MBGN OPENS
The highly anticipated 34th edition of The Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria pageant kicks off on Tuesday 11th October 2022 with the formal opening of CAMP MBGN
Venue for this year’s camping exercise is the serene and statuesque Colonades Hotel Ikoyi, Lagos
During camping, the 37 beautiful delegates will be put through a variety of intensive but exhilarating confidence building sessions, including catwalk, choreography, grooming, elocution and etiquette classes; on their way to truly becoming beauty ambassadors.
The delegates will also benefit from photography and makeover sessions courtesy of our partners @studio24nigeria and @zaroncosmetics
The Public Voting element of the pageant is already in full swing on our website www.mbgnsilverbird.com; with friends, family and fans of the delegates empowered to fast track their preferred candidate to a spot in the Top 15 by ensuring they get the highest number of votes.
We wish all our delegates the very best of luck as they commence their pageant journey and vie for any of the five honors available, namely; the Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Supranational, MBGN Ecowas and MBGN Tourism titles
The Grand finale of The Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria Pageant holds on Friday 21st October 2022 at the prestigious Eko hotels and Suites in Lagos
