Instructions to open more and more procurement centers to help farmers
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed preparations for Rabi Procurement
Bhopal: Monday, April 6, 2020, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is possible to open a lock-down on April 14 in the state. After this, Rabi procurement work will be started in the state from April 15. He said that the procurement work has to be finished by 31 May. Time is short. Therefore, make such a system, so that wheat, gram, mustard and lentil crops of farmers can be easily purchased at the support price. Shri Chouhan instructed that maximum procurement centers should be opened in the state. The services of staff of other departments should also be used at these centers as required. Shri Chouhan said that Rabi procurement of urban areas of Indore, Bhopal and Ujjain districts will be done at the nearest rural procurement center. The Chief Minister was reviewing the preparations for the Rabi procurement through a video conference today.
Do procurement work as a mission
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this time Rabi procurement work has to be done as a mission due to Karona crisis. Government employees, cooperative societies, laborers, Hammals etc. should all work to purchase support price with full service price.
Farmers should come only after receiving SMS
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that special attention should be taken to ensure that the procurement centers are not crowded. For this it is necessary that SMS to farmers. And through other information channels, information should be given on which day they have to come to the center to sell the crops. Farmers come to the shopping center on the same day to sell their crops.
100 lakh MT wheat procured on support price
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this time around 100 lakh MT wheat and 10 lakh MT gram, lentils and mustard are to be purchased on support price. Shri Chouhan instructed that all arrangements for gunny bags, hammal, laborers, transportation, storage etc. should be made at the procurement centers. He said that there was a lot of transport problem last year. Shri Chouhan said to ensure better transportation arrangements this time. He said that old transporters whose records are bad, should not be put up this time.
PP bags will be used
Principal Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla informed that due to non-availability of jute bags, this time the work will be done in PP bags only. He said that at present we have PP bags available for purchase of 64 lakh MT. Purchasing capacity in silo centers is 9 lakh tonnes. Purchase orders have been issued for PP bags. PP bags are being arranged for the purchase of 115 lakh metric tonnes of rabi crops in the state.
4 thousand support price purchase center
Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla said that there were 3545 procurement centers in the state last year, which has been increased to 3813 this year. Apart from this, new centers were also being built. The total number of procurement centers will be up to 4000.
