The Chhattisgarh government has imposed a complete ban on importing paddy from Chhattisgarh bordering states without procuring paddy during the Kharif marketing year 2020-21 at a support price. In the order issued by the Food Department, it has been clarified that paddy worth more than Rs. 1900 per quintal during procurement of paddy on support price is not required to get permission from the controlling food for import from other states, but the importer is not required to buy this kind of paddy The information of import will have to be given to the food controller or food officer of the district concerned.
    The order issued by the Food Department states that during the period of paddy procurement, there is a possibility of bringing paddy from the border states and selling it at the support price in the state's procurement centers. Therefore, the state government has imposed a ban on paddy imports without permission from other states to prevent the inward and sale of illegal paddy from other states in paddy procurement centers. Any rice miller or paddy merchant, commission agent, application will be submitted to the concerned district collector or direct food operator for prior permission to bring paddy from other states till further orders. Rice Miller, paddy seller firm, name of the person, his full address, transportation, variety of paddy to be imported and price per quintal, along with information on the place where the paddy is imported, in the application form It is mandatory to give information about what will be stored. The paddy imported by the applicant will be sourced by road or rail. Information about marketing of that route will also have to be given in the application so that necessary information in this regard can be given to the Railway and Transport Department. The application will be processed after testing by the operator food and only after issuing the permission, the applicant can import the paddy.
    
The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has issued necessary guidelines to all the collectors of the state regarding the import of paddy into the state, in which the verification of the rice and rice stocks of the rice mills operating in the respective district as on 20 November 2020 I have essentially been asked to do it. The information of this stock has been asked by the rice mills to enter the Millers module compulsorily and to enter the weekly updated information of the paddy to be imported and the rice produced from it. The state government has asked all district collectors to strictly follow the above instructions.
