Chief Minister felicitated the urban bodies, Swachchta didis at Hattrick Festival of cleanliness

Raipur, 23 November 2021: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that today, Chhattisgarh model has become a topic of discussion all over the country. This is the result of your cooperation and hard work. Even the officials from various states of the country, who had gathered at Vigyan Bhavan of New Delhi, were discussing the development works of Chhattisgarh. They had also expressed interest in visiting the state and study the works being done in Chhattisgarh. It is a matter of pride for the people of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister said that four committees of Lok Sabha have praised Chhattisgarh for the development works.  Chief Minister said that State Government is working on 6-R policy for cleanliness i.e. Rethink, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, Reduce, Refuse.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the hat-trick festival of cleanliness (Swachchta Ka Hattrick Mahotsav) organized at a private hotel in Raipur today. He said that it is a matter of great joy and pride that Chhattisgarh has been awarded as the cleanest state of the country for the third time in a row. This year urban bodies of the state have won 67 awards in the field of cleanliness. He congratulated the urban bodies, the sanitation workers and Swachchta didis for their contribution in this achievement. Chief Minister said that achievements like these are the result of good coordination between the officials and the public representatives. Chief Minister congratulated everyone for this proud achievement of Chhattisgarh state. He said that the challenge before us now is to maintain this title of 'Cleanest state of the country'. On this occasion, Chief Minister felicitated the national award-winning urban bodies of the state, for their excellent performance in the field of cleanliness. Earlier, he also launched the video of Urban Theme Song prepared by Urban Administration Department and Safai Ponga website.

Chief Minister further said that we have ensured a clean environment not only in the cities but also in the villages. In more than 7500 Gauthans of villages, 70 thousand women of about 9 thousand self-help groups are engaged in improving the environment through various activities, including the production of organic manure and electricity from cow dung. Now State Government is gearing up to manufacture natural paint from cow dung. Godhan Nyay Yojana has become an important medium for both improving cleanliness and boosting income of the villagers. More than 10 thousand self-help groups have got self-employment through the cleanliness model of Chhattisgarh. As a result of these collective efforts, Chhattisgarh has got the distinction of becoming the first ODF plus-plus state of the country. Chief Minister has appreciated the dedication and hard work of Swachchta didis in the program.

Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria said that Chhattisgarh is doing an excellent work in every field of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. We have won the cleanest state award for three consecutive years, as a result of the collective efforts of Swachchta didis, officers-employees of the department and public representatives of urban bodies. He congratulated and appreciated their hard work for making Chhattisgarh the cleanest state of the country.

Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar said that Chhattisgarh has made its mark in on the country. Everyone is talking about the Chhattisgarh model. He said that out of 4610 cities of the country, Raipur city has maintained its rank in the top six this year. Shri Dhebar said that the Safai Karamcharis and Swachhata Didis have rendered incomparable services during the COVID crisis. The program was also addressed by Secretary, Urban Administration Department, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D. and CEO of State Urban Development Agency Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey.

Chief Minister felicitated the Urban Bodies

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel felicitated the urban bodies awarded under 'Swachh Bharat Mission', in the Hattrick Festival of cleanliness (Swachchta Ka Hattrick Mahotsav) organized today. In the cleanliness survey, the Municipal Corporations Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai Nagar, Korba, Durg, Birgaon, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, Risali and Raigarh were awarded as 3 Star Garbage Free City, Ambikapur was awarded as 5 Star Garbage free City, Bhilai and Chirmiri as One Star Garbage free City.

          Dhamtari and Bilaspur Municipal Corporations have been awarded for Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme and Municipal Corporation Raipur and Bilaspur have been awarded under Shri Dhanwantri Yojna. Kawardha, Badi Bacheli and Jashpur Municipality have been awarded as the 3 Star Garbage Free City. Among the Nagar Panchayats, Churikala and Dhamdha Nagar Panchayat were awarded as the 3 start Gabrage Free City. Rajnandgaon was awarded one star and Antagarh for two stars for PMAY's innovative project. Similarly, Arang and Kumhari Nagar Panchayat were felicitated for their best performance under Godhan Nyay Yojana.
