Social distancing, Transparency becoming hallmark of PMGKY Ration distribution process: DC Girish Dayalan

Total number of beneficiaries getting ration reaches 80000 mark

S.A.S. Nagar, 30 May 2020: As part of the commitment to ensure that there is no let up in the successful implementation of The ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna’ (PMGKY) in the district as well as considering the safety of public in mind especially in view of the corona virus, social distancing guidelines are being ensure during the distribution of 15 Kg of wheat per member for 3 months and 3 Kg of Dal per family as 3 months lump-sum, free of cost under the National Food Security Act, 2013. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan here today.

Divulging more, he said that apart from social distancing, the transparent distribution of the ration is becoming hallmark of the entire process with Food and Civil Supplies Department monitoring the whole exercise very minutely. The main aim is to make sure that the ration reaches the genuine households.

Today, the distribution work was undertaken in the villages Bhabat and Baltana in Derabassi Block, Sahauran in Kharar Block and Gudana, Dhelpur, Swara, Bhago Majra,  Landran, Jagatpura, Mataur, Balongi, Phase-6, Dasi Shekhan in Mohali Block and 8000 smart ration card holders were provided with the ration.
