Women's Commission gave instructions to deposit a lump sum amount for the maintenance of wife and daughter
Raipur, July 14, 2021 In the presence of Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, 20 cases were heard in the Collectorate Hall of Kanker today, in which 14 cases were resolved and the parties of 06 cases remained absent.
During the hearing, when the appellant was absent in the case of dowry harassment, the commission directed SI Kanker to investigate the case of the applicant in front of him, as well as to get the amount approved from the applicant for the maintenance of the applicant and the child. In this case it was learned that the appellant is going to marry his wife without divorce. On this, the commission has recorded the statement of that other woman and directed to submit the report before the commission within 10 days. Dr. Nayak has said that strict action will be taken against those who marry second without giving divorce to the first wife.
Similarly, in a case of mental harassment, the appellant informed that the divorce case is pending in the court. He accepted that he had remarried without getting divorced from the applicant. On this, the Commission, while directing the non-applicant to make arrangements for permanent maintenance of the applicant's wife and child, kept the matter for further hearing due to the absence of the applicant. While handing over the matter to the Department of Women and Child Development, the Commission directed to apprise the Commission by taking action to deposit a lump sum amount for the maintenance of the applicant and her child. Similarly, while disposing of many cases of mental harassment, beatings, physical abuse on legal grounds, the commission has submitted.
In a case of mental harassment, the clerk in the higher category of the applicant informed that due to discrepancies in the pension case of the applicant from 2008 to 2011, proper action could not be taken. The appellant expressed the possibility of taking action in a week. In this case, the Commission has directed the office of Joint Director and Urban Administration Kanker to take action and inform the Women's Commission office. In the hearing public representatives, advocate Ms. Shamim Rehman, protection officer, police and women and child development department officials were present.
