Indian Navy conducts Joint Exercise with Army and Air Force

India, Monday, 25 January 2021: A large-scale tri-service joint amphibious exercise AMPHEX – 21 was conducted in Andaman & Nicobar group of islands from 21 – 25 Jan 2021. The exercise involved participation of Naval ships, amphibious troops of the Army and different types of aircraft from the Air force.

The exercise was aimed at validating India’s capabilities to safeguard the territorial integrity of it’s island territories. It also sought to enhance operational synergy and joint warfighting capabilities amongst the three Services.

Two foreign nationals held at IGI Airport with heroin worth around Rs 68 crore

India, Sunday, 24 January 2021: On the basis of suspicion, two Ugandan nationals coming from Entebebe via Doha by flight QR-578 were intercepted by air customs officers at IGI Airport here today.  During search of the checked in bags of the two passengers, total 51 pouches containing 9.8 kg (approx) of white powdery substance, suspected to be narcotics was recovered. When this material was subjected to diagnostic test, prima facie it appears to contain commercial quantity of  heroin, valued at Rs 68 crore (approx).

Joint Military Exercise in Andaman Sea

Towards enhancing joint operational readiness, Indian Armed Forces conducted a large-scale conjoint military training exercise “KAVACH” alongwith “AMPHEX-21” in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Bird flu Not Confirmed in Chhattisgarh, India

 No bird flu has been confirmed in Chhattisgarh so far. In Balod district, 13 crow and 274 poultry birds were found dead and sent to the High Security Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Bhopal for immediate sample examination. Due to which the bird flu has not been found in the report received.
