Raipur, 29 September 2021: A courtesy call on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel by DG, ITBP, Mr. Sanjay Arora at his residence office here today. He presented a memento to the Chief Minister. ITBP Central Frontier IG Sanjeev Raina was also present on the occasion.

About Sanjay Arora, IPS Cadre TN-88: Sh Sanjay Arora is an Indian Police Service officer (TN-1988). He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B. E. in Electronics Engineering) from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur(Rajasthan).

After joining the IPS, he served in various capacities in Tamil Nadu Police. He was Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Task Force, Sathyamangalam, SP in Coimbatore and later in Tuticorin Districts, Tamil Nadu.

In 1991, Sh Arora had a pivotal role in forming the Special Security Group (SSG) to provide security to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

He has the privilege of serving the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on deputation as Commandant from 1997 to 2002. He had commanded an ITBP Battalion in Matli, Uttarakhand from 1997 to 2000. As an Instructor, he had made remarkable contributions in the field of training serving as Commandant (Training) at the ITBP Academy, Mussoorie, Uttarakhand from 2000 to 2002.

He served as Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city from 2002 to 2004. He was Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram range; Deputy Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption before being appointed as IG, Railways.

He was appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Chennai, ADGP (Operations) and ADGP (Administration) in Tamil Nadu Police.

He has served as Inspector General in BSF and CRPF. He has served as ADG CRPF and Special DG J&K Zone CRPF before being appointed as DG, ITBP.

He assumed the charge of DG ITBP on 31 August, 2021 as the 31st Chief of the Force.

He was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2004 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2014.

Latest ITBP News: 4 Porters rescued today are kept under observation at Kaza Hospital. Out of total 17 members of the group incl porters, 15 are at the Kaza Hospital now & kept under observation. After handing over the rescued to the administration, the ITBP search & rescue mission comes to an end
