"Service is the rent we pay for living on this earth." - Mohamed Ali. Kailee Horvath, Miss Shenandoah Valley USA, has been a volunteer First Responder for the past five years. Earning her EMT certification during her senior year of high school was a critical factor in formulating her pathway to pursue a career in nursing. Kailee went through fire school last year with Loudoun County and excelled in both classroom and hands-on skills. She learned just how much she was capable of doing and did so alongside men and women of all ages and backgrounds. The experience reinforced her belief that stereotypes need to be crushed and that we are only limited by what we allow ourselves to be limited by. Every shift at the firehouse, she uses the opportunity to share her passion for emergency preparedness with her community and the junior members she mentors. In her spare time, Kailee loves to hike and takes advantage of being so close to the Shenandoah mountains. When possible, she brings her rescue husky Juno. She also takes physical fitness seriously and recently became a part-time spin instructor. Kailee is excited to be a part of the Miss Virginia USA community and compete amongst so many incredible women."
