Sat, Jul 8, 2023 Hollywood and Sao Paolo: The Reigning Queen Maria Eugênia "Mia" Mamede aka Mia Mamede Miss Universe Brazil 2022 has just crowned her successor, The Winner in 26 Contestants, Maria Brechane as new Miss Brazil / Miss Universo Brasil 2023 at the end of Grand Finale and Coronation Night today on Saturday July 8th 2023 which started at 9pm in the pageant venue Pátio Welucci São Paulo.

Newly Crowned Maria Brechane Miss Universe Brazil 2023 will represent her nation with national flag at the upcoming 72ND Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador where the reigning Miss Universe 2022, R'Bonney Gabriel will crown her successor at the end of Grand Finale.

About The National Costume: Call it Creoula

The tradition of the Creole flame originated in 1947, when the traditionalists Paixão Cortes, Cyro Ferreira and Fernando Vieira, removed a spark from the symbolic fire of the homeland and lit the first Creole lamp, in Porto Alegre, representing the courage, the unity of the peoples and the love of the Gaucho for their country earth.

This year's edition of Miss Universe Brazil will be the first to allow mother & married candidates who have children to participate, something that has never happened before in over 70 years.

Brazil also came up with Married Mother Contestants. The first miss elected to fit this new category is Renata Guerra Otoni, 27, from Goiás, elected at the beginning of May, who is the mother of the little Samira, 4 years old. The other two elected moms are misses Piauí, Gabriela Reis Menezes, 26, and Maranhão, Lorena Caroline Maia e Silva, 27.

This was only possible after Miss Universe's historic decision to change the rules of the competition, created in 1952. Last August, the world organization communicated that, from 2023, it would begin to accept women who wish or were married, as well as pregnant women. or who have children. The age for registration in the competition, however, remained the same, 18 and 28 years.
