06/24/22 – High Point, NC - The Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen Competitions kicked off at High Point Theatre last evening. 30 Candidates and Total 57 candidates from across the Tarheel state competed in preliminary competitions for a spot in Saturday’s final competition.
 
Miss Sandhills, Julia DeSerio, garnered the Miss Red Carpet Award and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship provided by David Clegg.
 
Miss Thomasville, Lilly Beaver, garnered the Miss Talent Award and received a $1,000 scholarship provided by Steve Googe in memory of his late wife, Susan Googe, Miss North Carolina 1975.
 
Preliminary competitions continue tonight for our Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen and Miss North Carolina at 3PM and 7:30PM, respectively.

Wilmington’s Carli Batson Miss North Carolina 2021 and Miss Cleveland will crown her successor at High Point Theatre who herself was crowned by Charlotte’s Alexandra Badgett 2019–20 Miss North Carolina & Miss Jacksonville at the place last year on Sat, June 26, 2021.

Fun Facts: Carli Batson was 3rd Top Fundraiser  while Alexandra Badgett was winner of Top 15 Miss America 2022, 1st Runner-up CMN Miracle Maker Award and Equity & Justice Scholarship Award. Alexandra was Miss North Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2012
