A candidate experienced a health event onstage. The Miss South Dakota Organization assured to have three doctors in the house and the paramedics are here to give her the best care.

The organization said "Activity on stage will resume in about 10 minutes, our candidate is being transported to the hospital, and she is stable and in good hands. All of our thoughts are with her and her family as the evening continues."

Thu, June 1, 2023 Hollywood and Brookings: Miss South Dakota 2023 Pageant today kicks off at Brookings with Wednesdays Dress Rehearsal and Interview yesterday. The Preliminary Night will start today at 6pm in Oscar Larson Theatre in SDSU where Total 36 Delegates including 20 Miss South Dakota 2023 Contestants and 16 Miss South Dakota's Teen 2023 Contestants will present their best performance on stage. Tomorrow is set for Prelim 2 and Teen Finals.

The Reigning Queen Hunter Widvey Miss South Dakota 2022 will crown her successor the winner in 20 contestants as new Miss South Dakota 2023 at the end of Grand Finale on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at 6pm CDT in The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center in South Dakota State University.
