Miss Universo aka Miss Universe Chile 2022 will represent her nation Chile at the 71ST Miss Universe 2022 Competition where India’s Harnaaz Sandhu Miss Universe 2021 will crown her successor at the end of the Grand Finale in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on Sat, Jan 14, 2023.

Winner’s Statement
Today begins a new adventure which brings with it stories from the past that shaped me as a woman and that today teach me a great lesson. At the age of 12 I was diagnosed with Scoliosis, a disease that consists of the lateral curvature of the spine, and unfortunate in my case, it was already serious, therefore it incapacitated me and caused me a lot of pain. I underwent a complex surgery which led me to rethink my entire life, with the fear of never walking again, of not being able to lead a normal life, and where I would have a large scar with me for the rest of my life. Fortunately, everything turned out well, and today I can lead a normal life that made me think that sometimes we shut up the pain, hide these wounds and forget that they are the real battles that matter winning. Today in this photograph I want to capture the centuries-old Japanese technique called Kintsugi where the broken pieces of an object are joined, instead of discarding or disguising something imperceptible and instead they cover the imperfections and accentuate them with gold, thus giving it a new value. This is why we should be proud of our scars and remember that it means how important they were. In this month of Scoliosis, let us become aware of taking care of our health, detecting the disease in time is vital to avoid surgery, but the most important thing of all is to prevent it in time. Sofía Depassier Sepúlveda Competes at Miss Universe 2022 Pageant
Sofía Depassier @sofiadepassier was born and raised in Chile, where she lived until the age of ten until she moved with her mother to the United States following her parent’s divorce. She and her family experienced discrimination, bullying, and racism as a result of not knowing the local language and having cultural differences with the local people. As a result, she felt compelled to collaborate with other immigrants seeking a better quality of life. Fueled by this passion, she created the project “Universe Without Frontiers,” the focus of which is to provide the necessary tools for children and young people in need of guidance after moving to a new country.
